Dearest Deviants,

We would like to update you all on recent happenings that we've been up to, for you, our sharpest pointiest things..iest... fans!

:bulletgreen:  "Knives and Swords" folder has been separated into 3 folders, Knives, Machetes, and Swords.  Deviations have been moved accordingly.
:bulletgreen:  Come to the definition of a straight razor, to be a razor, not a knife.  Deviations have been moved accordingly.
:bulletgreen:  Deviations that read as "In Storage" have been removed.
:bulletgreen:  A "Non-sword weaponry" gallery folder has been added for sharp-pointy-things such as scythes, battle axes, or any other form of fun pointy things.
:bulletgreen:  A "Spikes and Staples" gallery folder has been added.
:bulletgreen:  An "Animal and Plant Life" gallery folder has been added.
:bulletgreen:  The "Miscellaneous" gallery folder has been cleared of all things that fit into previous folders.
:bulletgreen:  We love you all.
:bulletgreen:  The "Miscellaneous" gallery folder is now the resting place for all deviations that contain more than one genre of sharp-pointy-thing. (e.g. knives and swords separately)
:bulletgreen:  Did we mention we love you?
:bulletgreen:  Pinwheels, go in the "Pins and Needles" gallery folder, since they are, by definition, a wheel of pins.

I hope this has been informative for all of you!
If you have any questions, concerns, or pictures of something that is sharp and pointy, feel free to reach out to us.  Just not to hurt us, with said sharp pointy thing.

Hi guys,

We are up to our necks in photographs that look like they are being used for a merchant site, and regardless of personal artisan skills, we are perilously close to rejecting all of them from this point onward.  If you feel as though you MUST submit a photograph of a sharp pointy thing that you yourself have created, put your sweat, blood, and tears into, why not up the bar just a little further and apply some creativity to the followthrough of actually photographing it.  This can range from dramatic lighting, unusual colors, interesting backgrounds, or using it as a prop in further artistic ventures! Thanks everyone for taking that extra effort, and turning ordinary, into extraordinary.

Keep your things sharp.
Keep your things pointy.

First off, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed and participated in this group. We couldn't do it without you.

But here is what we really need to talk about.

There comes a point with all groups, when they feel it is time to accept higher quality art.
Here are some new guidelines to keep in mind when submitting:

For photography
Please refrain from submitting:
:bulletred: poorly thought out and executed photos
:bulletpurple: webcam photos
:bulletpurple: low quality cellphone photos
:bulletpurple: blurry (for no artistic reason)
:bulletpurple: off color (excessively orange or blue due to improper white balancing, that serves no artistic purpose)
:bulletpurple: Merchant photos (photos you would see on a website like ebay or amazon when trying to sell an item)

For Digital Art and Traditional Art
Please refrain from submitting:
:bulletred: Incomplete and unfinished works
:bulletpurple: Unshaded pencil drawings
:bulletpurple: Low Quality Scans
:bulletpurple: Low Quality Photos of completed works
:bulletpurple: Low Quality Renders of 3d images
:bulletpurple: Poorly done work.

If you have any questions about why we rejected a work from our gallery, we would be happy to offer you our criticism.

We would like to thank all of you again, for your participation and contributions. If you want any help or suggestions on how to up the quality of your work, feel free to send us a note and we will give you tips, tricks, and any sort of guidance we can. We want to help you grow as artists, not to discourage you.
